Aroostook County (set off from Hancock County to Penobscot County in 1816, to Aroostook County in 1843)
Organized
1848 as Plantation No. 9, Sixth Range; organized in 1870 as Oxbow Plantation; organization legalized in 1873, and confirmed and made valid in 1895. Plantation residents voted to deorganize in 2016.
