1840 as Hancock Plantation for election purposes, together with the township later New Canada
Reorganized
1859 from part of Hancock Plantation as Walagrass Plantation; organized 1863 for the assessment of taxes; organization confirmed and made valid, and name changed to Wallagrass Plantation in 1863, and again in 1870; organized for the assessment of taxes in 1871
Incorporated
1979 as the town of Wallagrass
