The Will of Eleanor Junkins

 From York County Probate Records, Volume Nine (1743-58)

   In the Name of God Amen, I Eleanor Iunkins of York in the County of York Widow being very Sick & weak of Body, but of perfect Mind & Memory, Thanks be given to Almighty God, and calling to Mind the Mortality of my Body knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament. First of all, I give & recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it; and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named; And as to my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life, I give demise & dispose of ye Same in the following Manner & Form.

   Item, I give & bequeath unto my two Sons Daniel Junkins & Iames Iunkins the Sum of five Shillings lawful Money each of them being in full of their Portions out of my Estate to them their Heirs, & Assigns forever. Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Lydia the Wife of Peter Nowell one Cow to be delivered her within three Months after my Decease. Item, I give & bequeath to my Daughter Sarah the Wife of Curtis Thomson a Heifer coming in three Years old to be delivered to her by my Executrix immediately after my Decease.

   Item. I give & bequeath unto my Grandson Joel Jellison a heifer Calf to be delivered unto his Father Ichabod Jellison by my Executrix immediately after my Decease to be in full of his Portion.

   Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Junkins all the rest & residue of my Estate both real & personal moveable & immoveable (besides what I have heretofore given in this my last Will & Testament unto my above Children) Vizt Cattle Mair Sheep Swine Wearing Apparel Houshold Goods to her the Said Mary Junkins her Heirs and Assigns forever. Lastly, I do hereby authorize appoint & impower my Said Daughter Mary Junkins Executrix of this my last Will & Testamt revoking and disannulling all & every other former Wills & Testaments or Legacys by me made either by word or Writing and this only to be my last Will & Testament. In Witness whereof I the Said Eleanor Junkins have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this Seventh Day of Septemr Anno Dom : 1755. Probated 21 October 1755.
